Uuhh, maybe that's because there are no American or Euro teams playing in the championship game?

Kind of like the pro league vs the college teams.

Where did this rumor come from?

It is the pre-championship final interviews and the questions were posed by the other guilds.

If you really want to get angry over something, do it over Western culture rather than ANet. When it was posted on the gw site that War Machine practice "x" amount of hours daily, people here were like OMG NERDS!!!1! Instead in Korea they actually get sponsers for this kind of "dedication".
Just look at CS. It was made by 2 random guys for NO MONEY and now the CPL has given away more than 3 million $'s in prize money (among other games, Q3 being most notable)
This is a competition for the best, period. At this stage you have people you REALLY love what they are doing and will do ANYTHING to be the best at it.

I watched a few matches. Some were kinda interesting, but most were boring. Half of every battle is Gale it seems.
Gale is used too much. They should nerf it. *ducks for cover*

Sponsers are not rumor. Like the coke shield made specially for that sponser.
No where on site does it say pre-championship interviews it says pre-game interview. War machine and Evil are not the only 2 guilds that went to taiwan.
Anyways war machine will most likely win.

Unfortunately you have just proven that your claims have no basis. The coke shield is gotten from buying coke in korea. Korea don't have pre-order items so this is to compensate for that.

Pls click on the interview links. Btw there was an introduce-the-guild interview with all the guilds before the event.

Every single build these people run doesnt seem original to me . .
Every warrior has the same skill set . .
So do the monks.
It just looks like the came to GWG and got thier builds.

This you guys compare the amount of time the Koreans spend on GWs and the American/Europeans guilds?
WM spends 11hrs/day (on WEEK days!) practicing!
The Americans/Europeans spend.... 10 hrs/week!
Lol.
On a given week, WM plays 77hrs, while the other play... 10h.
I think there's no way you can outplay someone who plays that much more than you.

Thanx for the link. I've asked other korean players and that's the response I got. Guess they were wrong or lied.
Still they have sponsers. Its no different then the days of starcraft. See me on tv (place product here) now go buy. They did the same thing with other games like this. Games are a huge investment over there. No way would you let one of the biggest games of the year just slip by you with no interest.
Who can play for 11 hours per day and still have a full time job and go to school. I don't know their life situation but, don't think you can't make a living playing video games. Go talk the guy that wins Unreal's tournement every single year. He's at nearly a quarter million and that was a few years ago. He makes more in one tournement then what I make in a year. Its a very real occupation.

Evil showed themselves as the clear best team making no real mistakes and punishing others severely.
WM vs iQ would've been interesting though. Putting aside the game 1 where iQ looked like a bunch of newbs and nowhere near their playoff self, game 2 they pushed Evil pretty hard and made them fight for it, at least as much as WM did if not more. Shame on the tournament system.

When did i mentioned that you can't make a living playing video games?
The 11hrs a day is taken out of context. It is divided into 2 sessions. One in the day for students and one at night for working adults. WM is not a guild with only 8 members.

Lol....
It's a 6hrs session and then a 5 hrs session - on week days!
Just so you know the other guilds also have more than 8 people... and they play 10hrs/week (they said it themselves).
Shrugs

Unfortunatly is was away for the weekend (girls, beer , gangb**g, etc) and i couldn't watch the matches.
I read all the available material and it didn't change my heavy anti IQ feelings. I don't know why, but I don't seem able to like them.
I'm happy that EviL won the GWWC. With all respect to WM's love for the game, for me GW will always be a game, nothing more. Although EviL practices alot, and members of EviL seem to spend just as many hours playing GW as WM. When i started playing GW there were times when i played 24/7, so I can't boo them for what they do.
Anyway, EviL represents more accuratly (out of the 2 finalist) the GW community.
As for the GWWC final, it wasn't ment to be an "occasional player's weekend". It's purpose was to get the top-notch guilds from all the existent GW regions (euro, america, asia = korea) and see who's the best.
I'm happy that everything is over, RSPECT to every team that competed in the finals, congrats to EviL. I hope anet will now finally deal with some of the issues in PvP. Everyone knows what i`m talking about (so I hope).
Can't wait for Factions to come out!!!
